NICOLA HARRIS UK Female Country SINGER/SONGWRITER from Nottingham
"Notice Me' Nicola first single was aired by the lovely Dean Jackson on BBC Introducing Nottingham, which gave Nicola the confidence she needed to keep writing.
Una Healy made Nicola her homemade country champion for her song 'I Wanna, I Gotta Dance'. Una also dubbed Nicola 'Harris with the hair'.
Nicola was delighted to be asked to sing two of her original songs 'Raise Your Flags' and 'Love Thing' live for BBC Airwaves.
Lineup included 'Rag 'n' Bone Man, James Arthur, Texas, Gabrielle, Griff plus many more....
Playing the BBC Introducing stage at the Long Road Festival was such a tremendous experience for Nicola. Dean Jackson gave Nicola the opportunity she had craved for and that was to perform a 45min set of original songs to an audience that were true country fans.
Nottinghamshire’s Nicola Harris has been a highly successful professional singer since she was 16 years of age.
Career highs have included performing alongside a host of industry stars from UB40 to Elkie Brooks and Jason Donovan to James Arthur.
Nicola has headlined at exclusive celebrity parties, 5 star hotels and huge festivals across Europe and around the world.
Being a Nottingham girl a personal highlight was being invited to sing at Brian Clough’s memorial (in 2004).
However despite successfully singing pop and other genres of music her heart has always been in country music. Her influences have included Chris Young, Toby Keith, Josh Turner, Chely Wright, Jo Dee Messina, Shania Twain and many more.
In 2018 Nicola sung in Nashville including a memorable set at the world famous ‘Tootsies Bar’.
A shift in focus followed and in 2019 Nicola started to pen and perform her own songs.
Her first release was ‘Notice Me’ and this was soon followed by tracks such as ‘Love Thing’,
‘I Wanna, I Gotta (Dance)’ and ‘Strange’.
'Raise Your Flags’ was recorded in 2020 as an anthem of support and unity for all of us who have felt vulnerable and victimised.
‘Christmas Everywhere’ received extensive critical acclaim with it's upbeat and ridiculously catchy lyrics and melody. It was chosen by BBC Introducing to be aired on their Christmas special show.
Nicola would also hugely appreciate any other opportunities in terms of radio air play, interviews and social media output.
She continues to write but now also looks to increase her profile by performing her own material, with her fabulous band, in as many venues across the country as she is able.
